FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions about tree stump removal and stumps.biz
What do stumps.biz do exactly?
stumps.biz are the specialists in tree stump removal and they remove stumps
using the most up to date machine called a stump grinder. This machine
literally grinds the stump into chippings. This method is the most efficient
method of destroying the stump leaving the area ready for the next stage
of garden design, replanting or building that extension.
What happens to the chippings that are left?
stumps.biz reduce the stump to chippings that are mixed up with the soil
in which the stump was standing. This resulting 'mulch' is left for the
customer to utilise on the spot or to be used as a mulch elsewhere in
theirs or a neighbours garden. (see mulching)
How much does it cost
stumps.biz do not charge for travelling or for meal breaks but costs are
based upon the size and number of stumps to be removed. When asking for
a quotation it would be useful to have
some idea of the number of stumps and a rough idea of how wide they are
and how tall the stump is. This information will enable stumps.biz to
give you an accurate, 'no obligation' quotation on the phone.
How soon can you come?
stumps.biz have a busy work schedule but urgent work can usually be booked
in within the next two weeks. If you only have a small stump then stumps.biz
may ask you to wait a little longer until another job is being done in
your area, this reduces the costs for everyone.
Do I need to be at home?
stumps.biz only ever meet about half of their customers. Their reputation
is such that customers are happy for them to carry out the work in their
absence knowing that the work will be done efficiently with the minimum
amount of ground disturbance and the area being left tidy. An invoice
can be left on the day or sent by email or post later on.
Do stumps.biz do other tree work?
stumps.biz are dedicated to the efficient removal of tree stumps and do
not get directly involved in any other aspect of tree work or garden maintenance.
Because of their reputation stumps.biz are often asked to carry out other
work, but this is referred to their network of tree surgeons and contractors
with whom they have a close working arrangement and whom they can recommend.
Will the tree re-grow?
Usually any stump that stumps.biz undertake to destroy is completely ground
away and will not regrow. There are one or two exceptions that may send
up the odd shoot from a piece of root but even these can easily be managed
with advice from stumps.biz. In either case the area can be utilised for
that favourite project. You are left with a valuable soil mixed with wood
chippings. The ground can then be replanted immediately, turfed or the
mix can be used as an excellent alternative to other forms of weed inhibiting
mulch.
What about Honey Fungus?

nightmare. More about Honey Fungus.
